Tina Mickelson has been a teaching professional since 1991 and has
been a PGA Class “A” Member since 1994. She is currently the
Ambassador for Women’s Golf at the Santaluz Club in San Diego, CA.
Her role includes promoting the game of golf to existing members, both
experienced players as well as beginners. This is done through giving
clinics, playing lessons, rules seminars, and hosting a variety of
different events. The goal of the club is to grow and strengthen
women’s golf through making golf more available to women and by
eliminating the intimidation women feel when they are new to the game.
Her personal goal is to accomplish this not just at The Santaluz Club,
but in the golf world as a whole.
She is currently the Ambassador for Women’s Golf for Callaway Golf.
The goal of Callaway Golf is to make the game of golf more enjoyable
for women. She represents Callaway at sponsored events and clinics
for women. She is working together with Callaway to help inspire
women to develop their own passion for the game, and to understand the
many benefits the great game of golf has to offer.
She was the author of a column that provided weekly golf tips to
newspapers, periodicals, and websites world wide and was syndicated by
Copley News Service. She authored this column, called “Professional
Golf Tips with Tina Mickelson” from July 2000 until the syndicate
closed down in June 2008.
Beginning in December, 2008 her tips will be featured on
www.youreeeka.com
She is the featured instructor for the ESPN Golf Schools for Women.
She was instrumental in creating a product made with women in mind
with the goal being to not only improve golf games and heighten
passion for the game of golf, but to have an impact on and improve the
overall well being of women. She is also an instructor for the
existing ESPN Golf Schools, which are available to both men and women.
She has been seen on the Golf Channel, involved with various programs
including Golf Channel Academy, Academy Live, Your Game Night, and Drive, Chip, & Putt.
Tina has worked with Dr. Deepak Chopra on his book, “Golf for Enlightenment”, as one of the editors. Dr. Chopra wanted to ensure authenticity and credibility so he incorporated her expertise and knowledge of the game. They continue to work closely together to incorporate the benefits of his life teachings into the game of golf (and vice versa). She is one of the instructors for his program, Golf for Enlightenment. She also appears in his movie, “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success”, based on his best selling book (by the same name) along with Olivia Newton-John, Dave Stewart, and Bill Duke.
Her passion for teaching the game is what drives Tina to try to reach as large an audience as possible with her teaching philosophies and approach to the game. Television is a way for her to increase her audience, which provides an opportunity to help more people with their golf game. She has appeared numerous times on local news shows as their “golf expert”, providing insight into various aspects of the golf industry as well as offered golf tips on a regular basis.
Tina has also been a regular on numerous national radio sports talk sows, serving as golf analyst and providing insight on a variety of aspects in the golf industry.
Tina has an unparalleled passion for the game (not surprising coming for a golf-intensive family) which has led her to new assignments as a speaker at a variety of events. In addition to specializing in women’s issues and topics such as “Using Golf as a Business Tool”, she has been successful with large corporate outings and special “corporate incentive rewards days” that involve golf clinics, general group lessons, playing a round of golf with certain groups, etc. Whatever the event or topic, Tin Mickelson brings energy and expertise to every subject she covers.
