SANDRA IS A 35-YEAR BROADCAST VETERAN of television and radio, recognized nationally as an accomplished leader and credible communicator, connector, creator and collaborator. Known for her insightful interviews with top newsmakers in business, government and academia, Sandra has a vast network of influencers to grow a company’s credibility, maximize their message and enhance their bottom line. A sought out public speaker, moderator and ambassador, Sandra has served as emcee for the past 26 years for Ernst & Young’s “Entrepreneur of the Year Awards,” in San Diego, merging her strong relationships and extensive connections in the philanthropic and business communities to raise awareness about important issues and millions of dollars for local nonprofits.

As a CBS News medical correspondent, Sandra developed her passion for the health sciences, medical and biotech industries, connecting with top entrepreneurs and scientists and gaining extensive knowledge of these thriving fields. As a primary news anchor at two television stations in the San Diego market, Sandra achieved ratings dominance in key demographics as an excellent performer and dynamic content creator, leading to improved market share and increased revenue. She developed franchises at KFMB-TV and KUSI-TV focused on life-saving medical breakthroughs and devices, generating a new revenue stream for the stations and providing worldwide exposure of emerging technology. With decades of experience asking tough questions of national newsmakers, Sandra has extensive knowledge about the financial workings in business and city government and in-depth crisis management experience. Her excellent communication, writing and storytelling skills generate maximum impact in today’s fast-paced social media environment.

Sandra is currently serving on The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary Board as a liaison for The Kroc Center and is a member of the Corporate Directors Forum. She has served on boards for Rady Children's Hospital Auxiliary, Trojan League Associates of San Diego County, and Torrey Pines High School Foundation and has raised millions of dollars for other nonprofits, including National Charity League, Teen Volunteers in Action, The Polinsky Center, San Diego Center for Children and Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Sandra’s anchoring and investigative reporting of the news have earned her 13 Emmy nominations, a Golden Mike Award, an Associated Press Mark Twain Award, recognition from the San Diego Press Club and honors from the San Diego County Medical Society. She has been inducted into the Silver Circle of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and recognized by the Salvation Army as a “Woman of Dedication” for her philanthropic work.

Sandra graduated summa cum laude from California State University, Chico with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Political Science.
