John Ford Coley received many things: playing music around the globe, triple-platinum awards, TV appearances, a Grammy nomination. Yet, John Ford Coley (famous as half of England Dan and John Ford Coley) didn’t receive the most important thing - Jesus Christ. After 28 years in a false religion that he taught around the world, John found Christ in 1999 and now shares his testimony.
“My wife, Dana and I found the presence of God in the back of a church and cried for 8 straight weeks,” says Coley. “It’s taken years to untangle the deceptions I believed, and to go deep in the Word and tear apart the lies of the enemy.”
As a kid, John was raised in a good Christian home but failed to really experience God. He was deceived by fear and went on a search that led him straight into the enemy’s clutches. He didn’t do drugs or get entangled in the Hollywood scene. He did go into worldwide fame with 8 top-forty hits in the 1970s and 80s, doing teen movies in the 1980s, and a return to Christ in 1999 when he and family moved to Nashville, Tennessee. These days, John produces country artists and still performs around the world but wants to help others head off the enemy (johnfordcoley.com

John travels with his wife of more than 20 years, Dana, who also speaks to women’s groups. John performs some of his hits, such as “Love Is The Answer,” along with new spiritual songs, and church songs he was raised with.
TESTIMONY MISSION
In returning to Christ, John has a three-part mission in sharing his story. “When I sought the Lord for what He wanted me to say, I felt the Lord say ‘Teach them about My love so that they never want to leave.’ ” The second component to John’s testimony is hope for those whose loved one’s have yet to come to Christ. This is the Scripture, “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from this.” John feels the prayers of his family were answered, even if his family didn’t see it while they were here on earth. The third principle John focuses on is the importance for the body of Christ to know their Word. (My people perish for lack of knowledge). John believes if he was taught certain Scriptures, he could have been prevented from the deception of believing the lies of the enemy.
