Christopher C. Horner is the author of three books on “global warming” and environmental policy, law and politics, including two best-sellers: The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming and Environmentalism ( 2007), which spent half of 2007 on the New York Times bestseller list; Red Hot Lies: How Global Warming Alarmists Use Threats, Fraud and Deception to Keep You Misinformed ( 2008) ; and "Power Grab: How Obama's 'Green' Policies Steal Will Your Freedom and Bankrupt America" (2010)(all by Regnery). His fourth book is due out in early October by Simon & Schuster, “The Liberal War on Transparency: Confessions of a Freedom of Information ‘Criminal’”, a thank-you note to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson calling his FOIA efforts called “criminal” acts.

Horner is a senior fellow with the Washington DC think tank the Competitive Enterprise Institute and director of litigation for the American Tradition Institute. An attorney in Washington, DC, Horner has represented think tanks, scientists and Members of the U.S. House and Senate on matters of environmental policy in the federal courts (e.g. scientists in Mass. v. EPA, members of Congress in EDF v. Duke Energy, both SCOTUS  '07).

Horner works on a legal and policy level with numerous think tanks and policy organizations throughout the world and serves on the executive committee of the Federalist Society’s international law practice group. He has written on numerous topics in publications ranging from law review to legal and trade journals to print and online opinion pages, but concentrates on the “climate” and related energy/environment issues, laws, treaties and policy.

Horner has testified before state legislative bodies, the United States Senate Committees on Foreign Relations and Environment and Public Works, the House and Senate Western Caucuses, and has given numerous addresses to audiences in the European Parliament in Strasbourg and Brussels, and before policymakers in European capitals including London, Rome, Prague, Copenhagen, Madrid and Warsaw. He has participated in international environmental fora in Bonn, Buenos Aires, Cancun, The Hague, Johannesburg, Katowice, Milan, Montreal, Munich, Poznan, Vienna and Zakopane, as speaker, NGO representative or on media credentials.

He is a sponsored Foundation Speaker for the Young America's Foundation, speaking on campus regularly throughout the academic year. He also frequently addresses activist and industry groups.

Horner has appeared on radio and television outlets based in the United States, Europe, Canada, Russia and Australia, including regularly on the Fox News Channel and Fox Business Channel with scores of visits each on Court TV, MSNBC and multiple appearances on The News Hour with Jim Lehrer, BBC, CNN, CNN International, ITN, CBC, Bloomberg and Reuters Television and the Hannity, Beck, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, G. Gordon Liddy, Lou Dobbs, Bill Cunningham, Mike McConnell  and Lars Larson syndicated radio programs. Mr. Horner has also been a guest on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Glenn Beck has hailed him as a "Watchdog" and Rush Limbaugh called him a "longtime go to guy on global warming extremism." Greenpeace has repeatedly targeted Mr. Horner, by taking his garbage on a weekly basis, issuing press releases announcing with whom he dines, posting his photo for all to beware on the walls at international policy gatherings, and including him in various publications including "A Field Guide to Climate Criminals" distributed at the UN climate meeting in Montreal in December 2005.

Horner has been a frequent contributor in numerous opinion pages including the Daily Caller, Washington Examiner, Washington Times, National Review Online, BigGovernment.com, Pajamas Media, Human Events, Energy Tribune, as well as Spain's Actualidad Economica and the Brussels legislative news magazine EU Reporter. He contributed the chapter on multilateral environmental agreements in "ConUNdrum: The Limits of the United Nations and the Search for Alternatives" (Rowman & Littlefield 2009).

Horner received his Juris Doctorate from Washington University in his home town of St. Louis where he received the Judge Samuel Breckenridge Award for Advocacy. He lives outside Charlottesville, VA with his family.
