The Mark Larson Show
is heard throughout Southern California on the new San Diego 1700AM. The program airs weekdays from 5 to 9AM and is available
online everywhere on
SanDiego1700.com. He also is heard on his afternoon commentaries on sister stations XX Sports
Radio 1090AM and 105.7FM.
Known for traveling the world to gain insight on important stories, he's covered the Iraq war on location in the Middle East, smuggled Bibles to the underground church in Southeast Asia and done ground-breaking broadcasts from war zones including the Persian Gulf region and Afghanistan. Mark's also visited Russia and made several trips to China, including Tibet. His continuing on-site broadcasts in the USA and around the globe give him a unique perspective on current events.
Each week his voice is heard on over 2,500 radio and
television outlets worldwide. He's the prime guest-host on
Michael Reagan's syndicated national radio show and serves
as political analyst on KUSI Television. He's also been seen on NBC, Fox News Channel, MSNBC and CNN's "Larry King Live".
Mark received an Emmy Award for a weekly entertainment show in Southern California and was host of nationally telecast events from Washington, DC on the NET and America's Voice networks.
With the
San Diego
Radio Broadcasters Association, Mark served as President for a record eight consecutive terms.
Radio & Records named him to its "All-Star Players" list in 2006 and 2007, citing him as one of only twelve "local
legends" in American talk radio.
A strong advocate for the United States military, Mark is a lifetime member of the Navy League and has Honorary Plankowner
status with the USS Ronald Reagan, the Navy's newest
aircraft carrier, to commemorate his on-going support of the
ship and its crew since commissioning in 2003. He is a
supporter of the Ronald Reagan Library and Air Force One
Pavilion as well as a Rawhide Circle member of
the Young America's Foundation,
owners of the Reagan Ranch.
Mark owns and operates Mark Larson Media Services, Inc., his programming, production and consulting company which includes
SpeakersGroup.NET,
a talent agency representing more than 30 unique
celebrities.
A sought-after advertising spokesman for many regional and national clients,
Mark is often selected for special speaking engagements. Assignments have
included emceeing many political events and several related to the San Diego GOP
National Convention. He was chosen by the Reagan White House to help organize and emcee two major California rallies with the 40th President. For ten years, he was part owner of two Salt Lake City radio stations.Prior to coming to Broadcast Company of the Americas (BCA) and San Diego 1700, Mark was heard on his popular daily show on Clear Channel's KOGO. Before joining KOGO in 2004, he was a well-known radio talk show personality on Salem Communications' KCBQ/KPRZ San Diego and KRLA 870AM, Los Angeles. He was also the main guest-host for SRN network's Michael Medved, Dennis Prager and Hugh Hewitt shows. Mark joined KPRZ as General Manager in 1994, after eighteen years with KFMB (CBS) Radio in San Diego, where he was Program and Operations Manager and a popular afternoon personality. He also served as National Program Director/Radio for KFMB's parent company. His current duties with BCA include serving as Program Director for San Diego 1700AM.
Active in a variety of charitable organizations, Mark serves on the Board of the
San Diego Air & Space Museum
as well as the Global Leadership Council and Board of
Directors for Heart to Heart International.
He's been chairman of Media Fellowship International
and is a founding board member and current chairman of the
Family Heritage Foundation. Mark was also a charter member
of the Salem Communications Political Action Committee. He is a board member for Enough Is Enough, spokesman for www.protectkids.com and a member of the Council for National Policy.
A member of Shadow Mountain Community Church, he appears regularly with his
pastor, Dr. David Jeremiah, on Turning Point.
The broadcast is heard every weekday on over 2,000 radio outlets worldwide. He's
also heard on the internationally televised edition of Turning Point and on several hundred radio
stations each week hosting Purity Products' Health Line programs.
In 2000, Mark completed nearly five years as a columnist for The Daily
Californian. He now writes daily updates on www.LarsonBlog.com. A new book is
also in the works.
Mark is listed in Who's Who In America and Who's Who in the Media and
Communications.
A proud father of three grown children, he has been married to the lovely Mrs.
Larson for 32 years.
