Barbara R. Metzler, California's 2007 Woman of the Year, graduated from the University of Southern California. As an entrepreneur, she has started five companies including a multimillion dollar corporation, The Farmer's Wife. In the 1980s, it was one of the country's leading fruit by-product companies selling fruits at farmer's markets as well as to larger companies.
She and her husband also commercially grew three million rose plants
with their company, J & M Roses.
Barbara is active in her church and with many local and national
nonprofit Boards. Residing in San Diego she enjoys spending time with
her four grown children and her husband of 30 years.
